Having an interest in hunting since early childhood, Scott Gesell found the opportunity to become an outfitter in Colorado and has been offering guided elk hunts and mule deer hunts since 2004. His enjoyment of horses and elk hunting came together and spending months in the mountains on horseback, packing and setting Colorado elk hunting camps as well as guiding allowed him to immerse himself in doing what he loves.

Our Wranglers & Guides

We are fortunate to have quality men and women from all over the country who join us in Colorado in the fall. Many of them have been working out here since 2005. Some stay the entire season (mid-August through mid-November) while others take their vacation to come out and help for a week or two or three! We have veterans of many branches of the military, a sheriff’s deputy, patrol sergeant, millwright, lineman, engineer, entrepreneurs, laborers, mechanics, retirees, consultants, carpenters, wranglers for ranches and riding stables, many business owners, farmers, etc… Many own their own horses and mules; some just enjoy ours. Their experience includes wildlife management, hunting, packing, tracking, guiding, horse care and nutrition, farrier, CPR, and vet tech training which is invaluable to have, especially in the remote areas where we hunt.
